AWS Course certification is a level of Amazon Web Services cloud expertise obtained by an IT professional after passing one or more exams offered by the public cloud provider.

AWS Course certifications enable IT, professionals, to demonstrate and validate technical cloud knowledge and skills. AWS Course offers a variety of cloud engineering, administration, and architecture certification exams. AWS Course certification is valid for two years, after which IT professionals can recertify their specific certification. There are hundreds of testing centers around the world where the exams can be taken.

AWS certifications are divided into four main paths, Cloud Practitioner, Architect, Developer, and Operations, as well as additional subpaths. A Specialty Path is also available, which is divided into five subpaths.


Pathway to Cloud Practitioner in AWS Course

This certification path is designed for people who want to improve and validate their overall understanding of the AWS cloud. This path is useful for individuals who work with the AWS cloud in technical, managerial, sales, purchasing, or financial roles.


Architect Career in AWS Course

This path is intended for solution architects, solution design engineers, and anyone else interested in learning how to design AWS applications and systems. There are two architect subpaths to choose from


  1. Associate AWS Certified Solutions Architect: In this AWS Course this level of certification, the student must demonstrate knowledge of how to design, manage, and distribute applications using AWS tools. 

These IT professionals must be able to design and deploy highly available and scalable systems in AWS, as well as understand the concepts of security, disaster recovery (DR), and troubleshooting. 

The AWS Course certification requires IT professionals to have at least one year of hands-on experience designing and deploying highly available, fault-tolerant AWS systems.


  1. Professional AWS Certified Solutions Architect: In this AWS Course, Completing the Associate-level AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification exam and having two years or more experience designing and deploying AWS cloud architectures are prerequisites for this certification level. 

IT professionals must demonstrate knowledge of complex AWS applications, such as how to migrate applications to AWS, optimize AWS architecture for an enterprise, and apply best practices in application design.


Developer Route in AWS Course

This certification is intended for software developers who want to learn how to create cloud applications on Amazon Web Services. There are two subpaths for developers:


  1. Associate AWS Certified Developer: In this AWS Course, IT professionals must demonstrate code-level knowledge of AWS application design, development, and maintenance, as well as a thorough understanding of the AWS architecture. The certification requires at least one year of experience maintaining AWS-based applications.


  1. Professional AWS Certified DevOps Engineer: In this AWS Course, Applicants must pass the Associate-level AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator certification exams and have two or more years of experience provisioning and managing AWS architectures. 

Students must understand specific concepts involving continuous deployment (CD) and AWS process automation, as well as how to implement them into AWS architectures.


Path of Operations in AWS Course

There are two subpaths designed for sysops administrators, systems administrators, and DevOps professionals who want to learn how to automate and repeatedly deploy applications, networks, and systems on the AWS platform.


  1. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator — Associate: In this AWS Course, Provide knowledge of AWS architecture and services deployment and operations, including application deployment and data migration; students also have basic system administrator skills in security, provisioning, and systems management. The certification requires at least one year of experience with AWS system operations.


  1. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional: In this AWS Course, To be eligible for this certification, applicants must have passed the Associate-level AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator exams and have two or more years of experience provisioning and managing AWS architectures.

Students must understand specific concepts involving continuous deployment (CD) and AWS process automation, as well as how to implement them into AWS architectures.


Pathway to Specialization

AWS also provides five technical specialty certifications. The five subpaths are as follows:


  1. AWS Big Data Certification – Specialty: In this AWS Course, At least one Associate-level certification, five years of data analytics experience, and knowledge of AWS big data tools and architecture design are required. 

Students must demonstrate technical and hands-on experience with big data architecture design, implementation, and automation using AWS tools and best practices.


  1. AWS Course Certified Advanced Networking — Area of Specialization: In this AWS Course, At least one Associate-level certification, five years of data analytics experience, and knowledge of AWS networking are required. 

Students must demonstrate advanced network architecture knowledge across all AWS tools and services; network process automation; and the ability to design, develop, and deploy services in the AWS cloud.


  1. AWS Course Certified Security — Specialty: AWS Course Certified Security is intended for individuals who have at least two years of hands-on experience securing AWS workloads and working in a security role. 

Understanding of specialized data classifications and AWS data security mechanisms Knowledge of data encryption methods and AWS mechanisms for implementing them.

Understanding of secure Internet protocols and the AWS mechanisms used to implement them

Working knowledge of AWS security services and features to ensure a secure production environment

Two or more years of production deployment experience using AWS security services and features.

The ability to make the cost, security, and deployment complexity tradeoff decisions is given a set of application requirements and comprehension of security operations and risk.


  1. AWS Course Certified Machine Learning — Area of Expertise: This AWS Course certification will teach developers, data scientists, data platform engineers, and business decision-makers how to apply machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and deep learning to their businesses, allowing them to gain new insights and value.


  1. AWS Course Certified Alexa Skill Building — Specialty: This AWS Course certification is for people who work as Alexa skill builders. It verifies a candidate's ability to create, test, and publish Alexa skills on Amazon. Certificate holders should be able to:


  1. Explain the importance of voice.

  2. Create the user experience (UX)

  3. Create the architecture to develop the skill.

  4. For the skill, adhere to AWS and Alexa security best practices.

  5. Generate, test, validate, and troubleshoot the ability.

  6. Control the skill-publishing process and interact with the Alexa Developer Console.

  7. Manage the operations and life cycles of skills.

The amount of time required for AWS Course certification

The format of the Associate, Professional, and Specialty certification exams differs, but they all include multiple choice, multiple responses, and sample direction questions. Each timed exam is overseen by an AWS professional. Exams at the Associate level last 80 minutes, while Professional and Specialty exams last 170 minutes. Questions on the exam cover commonly used AWS tools, services, and concepts. AWS Course determines a passing score based on a statistical analysis of an exam, which varies by test and is subject to change.


After passing the exam, AWS Course certification results are available in the test taker's AWS Certification Account within 72 hours. IT professionals who pass the exam receive an e-certificate as well as access to AWS-certified logos and badges for personal and professional use. IT professionals who fail the exam may retake it two weeks later.


AWS Course charges a fee for practice exams, self-paced labs, sample questions, and other study materials. Many third-party vendors also provide instructor-led AWS Course certification preparation training.
